Back in July, I had the pleasure of doing a maternity photo session with food writer/blogger/chef Tzu-i Chuang (just in case you missed it, you can see some of my favorite photos from the session here). Shortly thereafter, Tzu-i got a call from Parents Magazine China, saying they'd like to feature her in an upcoming issue. Tzu-i thoughtfully mentioned me to the magazine editor, shared some of the photos from our session, and the job was mine! The magazine even requested that Tzu-i wear the same blue dress she wore in our photo session, because she looked so fabulous in it.
Fast forward to this week: the November issue is now available and the photos of Tzu-i and her family look great -- see for yourself! (And why not pick up a copy at your local newsstand -- even if you can't read Chinese, you can always enjoy the photography!)

How blessed is this family? After three sweet (and astonishingly well-behaved) little guys, this time around it's a beautiful little girl! I'm guessing her big brothers are going to take pretty good care of her.

Some of my favorites from a really fun session I had the pleasure of doing this past weekend. Lovely day, lovely family! (And yes, I know: this little girl is an absolute doll.) Enjoy!

This fabulous mom thought of a perfect way to celebrate her recent birthday: a family photo session! (So brilliant! It made me wonder why everyone doesn't do birthday photo shoots . . . it's such a memorable way to kick off another precious year of life.)
The family has lived in Shanghai for years and wanted to revisit several of their favorite spots while the light was still good, so they were up, dressed, and ready to go before 7 am. And we hit the town running!
As you can tell from the photos, this mama is obviously crazy about her little girl (who is not only lovely and photogenic, but also very, very sweet). She's also really fun-loving and had all kinds of great ideas for creative shots. So it was a very happy birthday shoot indeed. See for yourself:

This adorable family rolled into town not too long ago -- welcome to Shanghai! -- and they have even more changes ahead. Big Sister (a tiger in the Chinese zodiac) is about to turn two, and Mama is one month away from having a little dragon baby. So on a lovely Sunday afternoon, we set off to make some pictures to capture this very special time. It started off as a maternity session, but it was so much fun to get the whole family involved!
